Māwhera Youth Voice (MY Voice)
MY Voice is open to ALL youth of the Grey District who want their voice to be heard in our community!
Meetings are held every three weeks on a Monday night, at Art Soup.
Our Vision:
Support Youth to be HEARD - CONNECTED - ENGAGED
We are interested in what is happening in our community and how it affects us and our peers. We aim to help make the Grey District a great place for youth to live, by responding to issues that impact us and by organising and being involved in events and activities in the community.
Projects include: Annual youth wellbeing surveys, attending Festival for the Future in Wellington and Youth Voice Canterbury trainings in Christchurch, inputting into the Ministry of Youth Development's Youth Plan and Grey District's Art Strategy and Play, Active Recreation and Sport Strategy, organising social events for Pink Shirt Day and the Youth Night Market and more!
2024 Co-chairs: Hannah Hsieh and Fred Struve
2024 Rainbow Youth Rep: Rata Gurney
